ASOPA chalkies will reunite in Vanuatu

BY KEN GRANT
The ASOPA Class of 64/65 is heading offshore for its next reunion.
It will get together at Aore Island Resort, just off the coast of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu from 30 August to 4 September next year.
Details are available from Ken Grant whose email is [email protected]
We hope to repeat the success of Cairns 2009 organised by Ankles Ellison and Fangio Litfin.
I spent a week at Aore a couple of years ago. It's just across the water from Luganville on Santo, swimmable, canoeable but a small boat is the way to go.
Interesting place, especially if you dive. Have a look at the military relics, especially Millionaire's Point and the old hospital, which is close to the house in which James A Michener lived and you can stare across the water to his Bali Hi. Have a look at the Chinese and Japanese projects on the big island.
Luganville reminded me very much of Papua in the 1960s. Very friendly people and very laid back. Hope you all enjoy it.
