Sunrise in paradise

BY MITILAM TENO

This poem basically appreciates Papua New Guinea on the extremities. As they say, PNG is the land of the unexpected and one of the trademarks enjoyed by tourists is the sunrise in every beautiful province visited - mt

As morn dawns
The big circle slowly rises and becomes well-endowed
I sit on my lawn
Watching the rays fight their way through the cotton balls of cloud

It spends every ounce of energy to override the rugged mountains
And settle on the serene blanket of sea
Its brightness sprinkles in a fountain
Pouring out pocketful’s of glee

The rays creep from behind,
Crawl across the green pastures
Dance nonchalantly with the wind
And chase the haze in happy gestures

Its luminosity fills the flowers with vitality
The petals bloom and expose their beauty
And invite serene hospitality
Whilst, their leaves shed novelty

When the big circle breathes its yellow streaks
Every life stirs and animates
Their happiness, filled to the brim, leaks
And, soon creates a wonderful climate
