It’s the end of the journey that matters

DAVID GONOL

I WROTE THIS POEM with deep conviction that how we start our journey doesn’t really matter but how we end it does.

History will judge your life on the basis of the end of your journey. You can start your journey as a criminal but you can finish as a saint. Or one can be born in a manger but still become King of Glory.

I captured these thoughts in this poem. Read and meditate on it and see what I mean. God bless you.

It’s the end of the journey that matters

Life is a journey with no reverse gears;
Life is a journey with forward gears only.
Many people have already taken this journey
And many will do the same in the future.

This life journey begins with conception
And ends with a coffin box.
This is a journey of a life time
That everyone must go through it.

This journey is not a new journey.
Billions have already gone through it,
Billions are going through it,
And yet billions will be going through it.

So I am no exception.
I am on my way to the coffin box.
Coffin box is the ultimate destiny
Of all men irrespective of who they are.

I don’t care how I started the journey but
Am more cautious about how I’ll end the journey.
It is not how you start the journey that
Matters but how you end it truly matters.

I’ll be a happy man at the end of the journey, if I
Can confidently claim the words of the Apostle Paul
For myself, saying: ‘I have done my best in the race,
Run the full distance, and have kept the faith.
And now there is waiting for me the victory prize!’
