11 April 2013
AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION
THE NEW AUSTRALIAN Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs and Multicultural Affairs, Matt Thistlethwaite, will visit Papua New Guinea from 14-18 April. It will be Senator Thistlethwaite’s first trip to Papua New Guinea.
During his visit Senator Thistlethwaite will meet with senior members of the PNG government. He will make the keynote address to the 29th Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum and attend the 8th Commonwealth Youth Minister’s Meeting.
Senator Thistlethwaite will visit Bomana War Cemetery to pay his respect to all those service men and women who gave their lives in defence of PNG and Australia during the World War II. His program will also include a visit to the Australian-supported Pacific Adventist University School of Midwifery.
Good on him, but If he takes Ian Kemish with him he might actually learn something
Too many persons from Canberra only ever speak to people who tell them what they want to hear. Kemish was the exception.
