DESMOND AIGILO
Feet are afloat; legs are lanky; balance is forgotten;
here she comes.
Sweaty palms clenched; heart battering sternum;
here she comes.
Eyes draw water; excitement exceeds;
here she comes; mind’s dismissed.
Composure is a foreign thought; a child once more;
Oh dear! Here she comes!
Here she comes!
A feet away; but oh too near!
Is this the moment?
Desire’s now a fear!
A world unknown; what will she say!
Please be the words I long to hear ….
Here she is! ....
Something’s not right; here she came; oh so near; yet there she went ….
She passed me by ….
There she goes ….
Reading this again today! Funny yet deep. Keep writing Des.

That's a brilliant little poem Desmond.
Hope to hear from you again in next year's Crocodile Prize competition.
