Beer daddy - have a beer but be a man

PHILIP KAUPA
Mum cried one night
why, there ain't no fight?
she cried by herself
I couldn't get help
Dad come home,
we're alone
without you,
we can't do
Dad it’s me
I’m with mum here
you keep looking at her
through that beer
Dad, your anger
makes you a stranger
Dad I’m scared, I’m sad
Mum is going mad
Dad is this a life?
If you behave like this
please love your wife
say yes to mum and no to beer
And Dad you know
it’s a curse so bad
Why? Come on, Dad!
Come home, Dad!
Come home, I need your cheer
I need your hands on my hair
I need your care
Dad, hear me, I dare.
When you have that beer,
we have more fear.
You love it
we can’t stand it
Quit hitting her
it’s unfair
I can't bear
Mama is wise
stop, pick your own size.
you think you're nice
but you’re really all lies
Please remember me
look what's happening, see
I need you, Dad
I'm afraid, Dad
Dad please come home
please love your own
We need you Dad

A timely and poignant reminder of what often is, and ever should be.
