Home calls me back

When the days are dry and hot
I think of cool and shady home
When paying monthly water bills
I think of free fresh water at home
When power bills escalate
I think of abundant firewood at home
When faced with food shortages
I think of garden surplus at home
My soul drifts back home

Home calls me back

When living in fear
I think of peaceful home
When time oppresses me
I think of home where time is unimportant
When gripped with modern disease
I think of fresh food back home
When death comes as it will
My body follows my soul back home

Home will call me back

It would be interesting to hear the opposition - home sends me off.

Nice poem, Joseph. Good sentiments and well executed.

It's funny how you have to leave your home to appreciate it though.
