To a stranger
Looking beautiful or scary
Don't know the meaning
Nor the pain involved
Think primitive and unbecoming

But Tattoos

On a body, a living storyboard
A blueprint designed by spirits and man
Passed through generations forgotten
Not a single line missed
Words, songs, whispers not omitted

And Tattoo

Process very painful
Cut, Punched or burnt to the flesh
The story from start to end carved in
Expertly, precisely tormenting the bearer
Spirits’ blueprint transferred to human flesh

Yes Tattoos

Not oral but storyboards carved in flesh
Tell of beauty, prosperity, status and wealth
Pronounce blessings and curses as well
Spiritual laws and wills with human directives
Make bearer complete,
A living storyboard for both spirits and man
