Facebook is a distraction for students
True independence starts in the mind

O arise all you!

Tambure poemJOSEPH TAMBURE

Another day of black and gold colours
A numerical addition to continue
Forgetting hardships and problems
Just to be out in colours with pride

O arise all you!

Black and gold on bodies
On buildings, cars, alongside roads
All provinces across the land
Just a day’s celebrations

O arise all you!

Spirit of unity surges
One team, one dream, one aim
PNG wan solwara, wan country
Eight hundred dialects speaking in common

O arise all you!

Though negativity, rough seas, bleeding hearts
Lifetime hurdles, declining blessings
Travelled forty-five years so long
Papua New Guineans still stand

O arise all you!
