PORT MORESBY - My name is Marcel Ezra Mapai. I was born in Inauaia village, Central Province - a member of the Mekeo trib,.
My middle name is actually Efi, but I decided upon Ezra as I wanted a Biblical name.
I have a degree studies in business management from Divine Word University and a Certificate in Ministerial Studies from the Bible College.
I spent some time in the Bible School as an assistant lecturer.
I'm also an author and speaker. My first book, Learning From Failure, was published in November.
My second book, Five Reasons Why Students Fail, was published last month.
The purpose of my first book was to help Papua New Guineans see failure in a new light. I want them to understand that failure is part of the process on the path to success.
Having that perspective means they will learn from their failures and mistakes and, in the future, make wise choices and decisions to succeed in their endeavours.
Failure becomes what it is when people accept the event, give up and are permanently held down.
‘Failure is just an event, not a person’ is an adage of my own invention.
Its point is that if you accept failure you’ll always fail.
We all need to learn how to separate your failure from you’re identity and not allow it to defeat you.
In this way you can learn from failure and make more informed choices and better decisions.
My just published book, Five Reasons Why Students Fail, offers five weaknesses that lead students to fail in school.
They are without vision and aspiration, are unwilling to work hard, lack discipline, lack goals and priorities, and are abusers of time.
I'm passionate to see PNG’s youth become responsible man and woman.
This is why I write books and articles and give speeches.
It’s a blessing to see young people getting inspired and motivated through my writing and speaking engagements.
Many young people seek my advice and mentoring as they seek to overcome their challenges and achieve their dreams.
I believe people make up the nation and to build the nation we have to build the people.
May God bless you!
