This is my truth, now tell me yours Pt 4: Mr Harbourside Mansion

BERNARD CORDEN

When politicians offer you something for nothing, or something that sounds
too good to be true, it's always worth taking a careful second look -
Malcolm Turnbull

After the leadership spill, Tony Abbott was replaced by Mr Harbourside Mansion and the subsequent farewell party at parliament house with his flour gang was a boisterous affair.

Damage during the cabinet anteroom shenanigans was limited to a shattered ornate Italian marble coffee table and several shards were later discovered in ministerial offices.

Following a narrow double-dissolution election victory in 2016, Malcolm Turncoat kept his job and formed a coalition government.

The conniving member for Eden-Monaro lost his seat and it fulfilled that sagacious Chinese proverb……If you seek revenge, dig two graves.

The removal of Tony Abbott and appointment of Malcolm Turnbull appeased many inner-city chardonnay socialists but a genetic skerrick of Fabianism always generated distrust and aroused extreme suspicion amongst the radical far right factions within the Liberal Party of Australia.

It was only a matter of time before the next leadership spill.
